Workshop for children with Ana Raylander Mártis dos Anjos – Every afternoon to this house I come

18.10 – 18.10.25
Sat, 10:30am – 12pm

On October 18, the workshop for children Every Afternoon to This House I Come, with Ana Raylander Mártis dos Anjos, will take place from 10:30 am to 12 pm in the education–mediation space, located on the ground floor. The workshop is part of Conjugations – Education, part of the public program of the 36th Bienal de São Paulo. Conjugations – Education offers activities inspired by playing, dancing, singing, gaming, and storytelling, inviting the public to engage in an active and playful immersion in the exhibition, deepening practices of humanity and valuing diverse ways of being and living together.

The verse that gives the workshop its title was taken from Eu (1912), a book by the writer and teacher Augusto dos Anjos. Designed for children aged 5 and 6, the proposal explores the notions of home and body through drawing. By paying attention to the small details of the house and each child’s individual perceptions, the artist seeks to stimulate the bonds that connect us to the places we inhabit. The ideas of return and boundary also guide the proposal, approached here in a playful and relaxed way.

Ana Raylander Mártis dos Anjos (1995) develops long-term, research-based projects that seek to establish a dialogue between collective history and personal biography, often drawing on educational and literary knowledge. Her works take the form of text, document, installation, video, performance, sculpture, photography, and objects. She is particularly interested in her Afro-Brazilian heritage, the modern-colonial project, and institutional critique. She has carried out large-scale projects and commissions for the 36th Bienal de São Paulo (2025), Sculpture Center (2025), Museu Mineiro (2024), Galeria Martins & Montero (2024), Galeria Cavalo (2024), Paço das Artes (2023), Pivô – Arte e Pesquisa (2020), and Centro Cultural São Paulo (2018).
Her texts have been published by MASP, Editora Fósforo, Jornal Nossa Vaz, Centro Cultural São Paulo, Projeto Afro, MAM Rio, and Museu Paranaense. She received the New Artists Award from Memorial Minas Gerais Vale (2024) and the EDP Residency Award from the Instituto Tomie Ohtake (2018). Recently, her works were incorporated into the MASP collection.
