Thematic visit – Souffles: On Deep Listening and Active Reception

On September 20, there will be a thematic visit with the mediation team of the 36th Bienal on the first Invocation. The event will take place from 11 am to 1 pm at the mediation space on the ground floor.

The Invocation in Marrakech, which took place in 2024, was guided by the themes of deep listening and active reception around the halqa – the circle. Within it, stories, knowledge, and perceptions are exchanged among its participants, who engage in listening to one another as a practice of humanity. The visit will address Moroccan modernism and the Casablanca School in their political, artistic, and historical aspects, as well as the reverberations of the movement across other geographies and temporalities. The presentation will also bring together the artists Farid Belkahia, Mohamed Melehi, Malika Agueznay, Amina Agueznay, and Alberto Pitta, traversing the three floors and historical positions of the exhibition.
