Roundtable – Bigidi mè pa tonbé! Totter but never fall! with Edinho Santos
On October 5, there will be a roundtable discussion with the Bienal’s education and mediation team, the adjunct co-curator of the 36th Bienal, Leonardo Matsuhei, and Edinho Santos. The conversation will focus on the second volume of the educational publication and the second Invocation in Guadalupe, Bigidi mè pa tonbé! [Totter but never fall!]. The event will take place from 3 to 5 pm at the Bloomberg Education Space, located on the third floor, and is part of Conjugations – Education, within the public program of the 36th Bienal. Conjugations – Education offers activities that, inspired by play, dance, singing, games, and storytelling, invite the public to a playful and active immersion in the exhibition, deepening practices of humanity and valuing diverse ways of being and living together. During the activity, the second volume of the educational publication will be distributed.
The activity will feature Brazilian Sign Language interpretation.
Edinho Santos holds a degree in pedagogy and works as an educator at Itaú Cultural. He has experience as an educator in museums such as Afro-Brasil, MAM-SP, and the Museu do Futebol. In 2017, he won 3rd place at Slam SP. He is active in the Black Deaf movement and is a producer and slammer at Slam de Surdes.
Leonardo Matsuhei holds a bachelor’s and teaching degree in visual arts from Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp). Since 2009, he has developed projects at the intersection of education, public programming, and curatorship. He coordinated educational actions in the exhibitions Gilberto Mendes 100 and Ars sonora – Hermeto Pascoal (Sesc SP, 2022–2024). He was mediation and public programs assistant at MASP (2016–2019) and collaborated on the Encontros Abertos project of the 31st Bienal de São Paulo (2013–2014). Since 2021, he has been part of the independent collective and cultural space Bananal. He is currently adjunct co-curator of the 36th Bienal de São Paulo.
