DJ Set – DJ MZK

On December 6, DJ MZK will perform a DJ set. The event will take place from 4 to 6 pm at the Varanda Bienal, the outdoor area of the Pavilion.

DJ MZK (1968, São Paulo) is a DJ and music researcher who has been active since 1995. A specialist in syncopated rhythms and tropical sounds—such as Afrofunk, Highlife, Cumbia, and Boogaloo—he performs sets played entirely on vinyl at nightclubs, on the streets, and at cultural venues in São Paulo. Throughout his career, he has shared lineups with names such as Afrika Bambaataa, Peanut Butter Wolf, ADF Sound System, DJ Egon, KL Jay, DJ Nuts, DJ Hum, and many others. He has also DJed at concerts by prominent artists and bands, including Femi Kuti, Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou, Robert Glasper Experiment, Bixiga 70, Trio Mocotó, Nação Zumbi, Ranking Joe, and others.
