Concert – Sintonizando o Choro
On November 9, a concert by Sintonizando o Choro will take place from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Varanda Bienal, the outdoor area of the Pavilion.
Sintonizando o Choro is a quartet dedicated to Brazilian instrumental music, with a focus on choro, performing works by masters such as Pixinguinha, Jacob do Bandolim, and Altamiro Carrilho, while also engaging with composers like Sivuca, Hermeto Pascoal, and Moacir Santos. The group bridges tradition and contemporaneity through improvisation and original compositions, valuing interaction with diverse spaces and audiences in formats that range from traditional rodas de choro to performative presentations. Formed by Alê Moura (seven-string guitar), Felipe Soares (accordion), Luiz Fonseca Lobo (percussion), and Marcel Martins (five-string cavaquinho), the ensemble is defined by its balance between creative freedom and respect for the genre’s roots.
