Concert – Barbapapas
On October 5, there will be a concert by Barbapapas. The event will take place from 2 to 3:30 pm at the Varanda Bienal, the outdoor area of the Pavilion.
Barbapapas is a quartet formed by Tomás Oliveira (glass harp and double bass), Selva Rubens (guitar), Bárbara Mucciollo (drums and electronic percussion), and Fernando Lima (percussion and electronic drums). The group has a little over two years of trajectory, exploring the universal language of instrumental music in its broadest possibilities. Its members bring experience from projects such as Mustache e os Apaches, Carolina Zingler e Nuvens, Mescalines, and Cumbia Calavera, which circulate in the music scene in Brazil and abroad. Barbapapas’ presence in São Paulo’s instrumental scene directly reflects their influences. The metropolis encompasses movements ranging from traditional jazz to afrobeat, the music of immigrants and refugees, and experimental and inventive expressions. The quartet stands out for using an electric glass harp, being the only band in the world to integrate this instrument with guitar, bass, drums, and percussion.
