MEXA (founded in 2015, São Paulo) is an artistic collective born within the context of shelter homes. The group uses artistic strategies to advocate for and promote encounters between diverse communities living in conditions of social vulnerability. It explores the boundaries between reality and fiction, autobiography, documentary, and the theater of the real, working across various platforms such as performance, theater, video, and photography. Since 2016, MEXA has been an artist-in-residence at Casa do Povo. The collective has participated in the 11th and 13th Sesc Dance Biennials (2019, 2021), the São Paulo International Theater Festival (2020), and exhibitions at MASP, the Pinacoteca de São Paulo, among other cultural institutions.
